A breakthrough in age-defying skin care

Skin laser treatments using the photo-rejuvenation process represent a breakthrough in age-defying skin care. This new technique treats skin damage non-invasively, as there is no disruption of the skin’s epidermal surface.

The photorejuvenation process includes a series of gentle laser treatments that gradually improve the texture of your skin, decrease redness and broken capillaries and also lighten dark spots on your skin. You may also notice that your pores may appear tighter and some fine lines may dissipate.

Common areas for photorejuvenation process include the face, chest, neck, upper back, forerms and hands.

The photorejuvenation laser treatments at RiNu are administered with light pulses into the skin using the advanced Sciton-BBL Pulse Light Technology. The colours in the light are attracted to the browns, reds and deeper collagen tissue. The heat generated from the light targets and vaporizes the browns, coagulates the reds and heats the collagen. The body’s healing mechanisms take over and slough the browns, absorb the reds and thicken the collagen.

On average clients will have 3-5 laser treatments that includes one laser treatment session every three weeks. Clients with brown or pigmented skin will notice a significant change after two laser treatments. Clients with reds or flushing will notice a significant change after three laser treatments. The final laser treatments will continue to improve the colour, texture and pore size.

The laser treatment sessions are designed to provide no down time. Your face may appear flushed but this usually fades within a few hours. Clients with pigment may notice their browns appear darker after the laser treatment. This darkness takes on a “dirty look” until it flakes off in 7-10 days. Makeup can be used right after so you can return to work immediately.

Sometimes a client can develop “purpura” or a bruise on the face. It does not hurt and will fade in about 10 days. This bruising can be covered with makeup. If you have a lot of colour, browns or reds on cheeks and around eyes you may develop some slight swelling for a few days while the skin is healing.

Laser treatment sessions for a full face takes approximately 20- 30 minutes to complete. Larger areas will take a little longer, hands less time.
