Laser treatments are one of the best ways to deal with many skin issues. Lasers can substantially reduce skin issues such as rosacea, redness, acne, acne scar, sun damage, age spots, uneven tone and texture, wrinkles, and even some veins. Lasers can do a lot and knowing which laser treatment may work best for your skin issue and how your skin may react makes it hard to know where to start. The correct treatment is generally determined after a consultation.
We understand that skin issues and hair can be troubling for you in so many ways. We believe in providing you the best treatment options for your needs. To do so, we meet with you first to assess your skin, talk about the outcome you want to achieve, and customize a laser treatment plan for you. If your skin issue is medical, our doctor meets with you to assess your skin, talk with you about the outcome you want to achieve, and customize a treatment plan for you.
Our laser treatments . . .
Laser Genesis – Toning and Tightening
Laser Genesis™ will stimulate elastin and collagen regrowth to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tighten pores, reduce oil production, improve overall tone and texture on the skin, get rid of sun damage and help to diminish any redness on the skin.
Laser Genesis™ is non-invasive and works to gently heat the upper layer of the skin. A treatment is relaxing lasting about 45 minutes. Over the course of 4 to 8 treatments, Laser Genesis™ can restore the skin’s youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by aging, sun damage, or scars.
A healthy complexion will begin to emerge as large pores are significantly reduced in size, and minor imperfections are abated. After the initial treatment period, most clients enjoy results which last between 6 and 12 months before follow-up treatments will be necessary. Many clients opt to have regular maintenance sessions after the initial treatment period.
IPL Laser – Photorejuvenation
Photorejuvenation is a treatment using IPL laser (Intense Pulsed Light), to help reduce the appearance of some of the most common skin conditions such as age and sunspots, acne scarring, broken capillaries (tiny blood vessels), excessive flushing, freckles, hyperpigmentation (brown spots), larger pores, melasma, rosacea, skin texture problems, spider veins, and fine wrinkles. The IPL laser emits light that heats up the collagen under the skin to stimulate enhanced collagen production.
IPL requires very little recovery time and has few side effects with relatively long-lasting improvements in skin quality and texture. Clients may need multiple treatments, usually spaced 1 month apart to achieve higher success. A full-face treatment takes about 30 minutes. The IPL laser emits a light that is absorbed by the skin and may cause some mild discomfort that feels like a heating sensation or like a rubber band snapping against your skin. You have the option to request topical anesthetic.
Cutera ProWave Laser – Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is an effective treatment to remove unwanted hair and put an end to routine shaving. All areas of the body can be treated including face, ears, nose, chin, hairline, sideburns, neck, underarms, chest, back, bikini, and legs. It is also effective for razor bumps that often plague the bikini area and the back of necks of men.
During the treatment, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in hair. The energy is converted to heat which damages the hair follicles (tube-shaped sacs) within the skin that produce hairs. This damage is semi-permanent and can inhibit or delay future hair growth. Most clients required multiple treatments spaced 1 month apart to achieve higher success. Some clients require maintenance sessions to keep the areas without hair longer term.
Laser hair removal can be painful, feeling somewhere between regular shaving and waxing. It hurts less on arms, legs, back and stomach because the skin is somewhat thicker. Whereas armpits and bikini areas tend to hurt more because the skin is thinner and hair is more dense. Some people do not respond to laser treatments as a hair removal method. This outcome cannot be determined until after the second session. Blonde and grey hairs generally do not respond to laser treatments.
If you have persistent facial redness, rosacea, vascular lesions, pyogenic granulomas (shiny-red raspberry-texture lump), cherry angiomas (red moles), or visible spider veins; Nd:YAG laser may provide you the ideal treatment option.
Nd:YAG, also known as neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet, contains a crystal used to refract light in the laser machine. It provides an infrared non-ablative laser-induced thermotherapy emitting light at 1064 nm which is intentionally slower than other laser types to give the skin time to cool between pulses and reduce skin damage. The laser penetrates the skin’s top layer to target the deeper dermis layer.
For some clients, the treatment may be a bit painful especially if the lesion is large or there are many of them. Topical anesthetic is available. Treatments usually take 15 to 20 minutes. There might be some discomfort which usually goes away within 24 hours. Vascular lesions take 2 to 4 weeks to heal. On occasion, a second treatment may be required.
Pearl Fractional Laser – Resurfacing
Pearl Fractional Laser is a deep (ablative) fractional laser used to treat facial and acne scarring and resurface the skin. The procedure involves using a laser whose light is absorbed by the water in your skin and heats it up. You will feel fast, hot pinches as the laser pulses place tiny holes in the skin and selectively remove columns of damaged tissue. As a result, a portion of the outermost layer of your skin will slough (peel) off over a period of many days leaving a smoother even-textured skin.
The treatment stimulates your body’s natural process for creating new collagen, plumping the skin from below to reverse the appearance of facial scarring. A topical anesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment to alleviate most of the discomfort. Treatments take about 15 minutes. Most clients need 2 treatments to achieve optimal results. Clients can expect downtime from 7 to 14 days for skin sloughing and facial healing.
